IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You have just read an article in a national newspaper which claims that town centres in your country all look very similar to each other. You don't fully agree with this opinion.

Write a letter to the editor of the newspaper. In your letter

• say which points in the article you agree with
• explain ways in which your town centre is different from most other town centres
• offer to give a guided tour of your town to the writer of the article

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir Madam,

I am writing this letter about an article which was published in national newspaper. There was an incorrect information which asserts that all town centres look similar to each other.

I would like to mention that there is huge difference in town centres such as different food outlets, various franchises, clothing brands are entirely unlike. Moreover, every city has there own history so according to those city centres are developed such as museums and townhalls.

Although, town centre in my city have various caffes, restaurants, train stations, public squares and lawcourts. Buildings are quite divergent and taste of food at every restaurant is dissimilar from other city centres. In my town every ancient building is representing something according to the history so they are built accordingly.

I would like to offer you a tour in our town which would be free of cost, I will take care of your accommodation, travel and other expenses. During this visit I will show you everything famous building in my town so that you can find out the difference in the town centres and write something about every town accordingly.
