Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to provide feedback about your current article in a federal newspaper. You have mention plethora of things about my city such as some postive and negative development about my home town but I believe, few arguments are not vaild.

In your article, you have discribe about various festivals for tourists in city centre. In our country, regime granted permission for events, so many cities are organsing multifarious programme for local individuals as well trevallers. Those events escalate well-being and bonding of people even though guest learn history of the cities.

Our town is extremely unique from other cities because service industry is excellent in our town centre because we are have myriads of international restaurants, and numerous tourists are specially in visiting to try different cuisine.

If you receive opportunity to visit our city again, I am really interested to provide planned tour with local public. You could glean historical knowledge from them.

I look forward to receive your prompt response.

Yours faithfully,

Piyush.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: acknowledging the article, explaining the uniqueness of your town, and offering a guided tour. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, when explaining why your town is unique, you focus primarily on international restaurants, which is a somewhat narrow argument. Additionally, the tone is occasionally inconsistent with a formal letter to an editor, such as using 'federal newspaper' instead of 'national newspaper'. To improve, ensure your arguments are more fully extended and that the register remains consistently formal throughout the letter.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each addressing a specific requirement of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In your article' and 'If you receive', to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between ideas is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the festivals and the well-being of the people. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would help improve the overall flow and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an attempt to use a wider range of vocabulary, such as 'plethora', 'multifarious', and 'glean'. While these are ambitious, some are used incorrectly or in unnatural collocations, such as 'federal newspaper' or 'regime granted permission'. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'trevallers' (spelling) and 'are specially in visiting'. To reach a higher band, focus on using vocabulary that you are confident is accurate and appropriate for the context of a formal letter, rather than forcing complex words that may not fit the intended meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Examples include 'You have mention' (should be 'mentioned'), 'we are have myriads' (should be 'we have myriads'), and 'If you receive opportunity' (should be 'If you have the opportunity'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and verb tense consistency. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and basic tense structures will significantly improve your accuracy.
