You have just read an article in a national newspaper which claims that town centres in your country all look very similar to each other. You don't fully agree with this opinion.

Write a letter to the editor of the newspaper. In your letter

• say which points in the article you agree with
• explain ways in which your town centre is different from most other town centres
• offer to give a guided tour of your town to the writer of the article

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

I am writing to express my concern regarding the claim made in your recent article that town centres across the country all look very similar. While I agree with some of the points raised, I believe that my town centre has several distinctive features.

I agree that many town centres share common facilities, such as hospitals with attached pharmacies and shopping centres. These amenities are essential for local residents and are therefore found in most towns. However, my town centre differs from many others because it also has a large recreational centre, which provides a range of activities for people of different ages. Furthermore, the local museum is one of the town's main attractions. It houses historical photographs, paintings and weapons used in past wars, making it a popular destination for both residents and visitors.

I would be delighted to offer the writer a guided tour of my town so that he can experience these unique features first-hand. This would provide him with a more accurate impression of the town and allow him to publish a more balanced account in the newspaper.
