IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You have just read an article in a national newspaper which claims that town centres in your country all look very similar to each other. You don't fully agree with this opinion.

Write a letter to the editor of the newspaper. In your letter

• say which points in the article you agree with
• explain ways in which your town centre is different from most other town centres
• offer to give a guided tour of your town to the writer of the article

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Dear Sir,

I'm writing this letter to inform you regarding your recent article in the Times of India newspaper. I have read the article which claims that all towns are appear to be identical.

However, I'm not fully satisfied with your given statement.

There are certain points which are valid to claim. For instance, road infrastructure, schools and colleges. Since these amenities are by the government funded and running under their control, it is reasonable to say that they all look similar to each other.

But, on the other side, there are many ways which differentiate my town from all other towns. For example, my town has a beautiful garden with a range of flowers and a physical activities. Furthermore, there are two big multi-specialists hospitals which have been running 24 hours for any kinds of health services. Also, my town is less polluted as compared to all other towns across the country.

To give a proper insight of my town, I would like to invite you for the town's tour whenever you're available. This would gives you a clear picture of my town.

Please let me know if you're interested to visit my town.
