Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I just wanted to give my opinion about the article that, I am not completely agree with article written about the similarities of all town centres in my country.
I just read the article in this article it is written that all the town centres in my country are same and there is no difference in between them. I agree with the point that the structure of the buildings in my town centre and other towns centres are similar. They look alike.
However, there are some things that make my town centre different from others, like there are all kind of facilities, schools, hospitals, transportation, proper rule and regulations that I have not seen in my near by town, when I visited last month.
Furthermore, so I would love to welcome you to my town for a guided tour, so you can see the difference between my town and other town centres. Then you can write about it. So that everyone can know about it.
I hope to looking forward to seeing you soon.
Kind regards
Namika

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all three bullet points of the task. You clearly state which points you agree with, explain how your town differs, and extend an invitation for a tour. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how your town differs relies on general terms like 'facilities' and 'hospitals' without specific examples that would make the argument more persuasive. The tone is appropriate for a letter to an editor, and your position is consistent throughout. To improve, try to provide more concrete details about the unique aspects of your town to fully develop your ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, and the progression of ideas is generally clear. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly repetitive. The referencing is mostly clear, although the sentence structure in the second paragraph is a bit disjointed. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different requirements of the task. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences flow more naturally into one another.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'facilities', 'transportation', and 'guided tour'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'I am not completely agree with' instead of 'I do not completely agree with'. There is also some repetition of the word 'article' and 'town'. To improve, try to incorporate more varied synonyms and collocations to demonstrate a broader range of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'I am not completely agree' (incorrect verb form), 'there are all kind of facilities' (subject-verb agreement), and 'I hope to looking forward to' (incorrect verb tense). These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that verb patterns (e.g., 'look forward to + -ing') are used correctly.
