Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly state your disagreement with the article, provide specific examples of how your town is unique (such as free parking), and extend an invitation for a tour. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention 'people's behavior' and 'culture' as points of agreement, these are vague. To improve, you should provide more concrete details or examples to support your claims, which would help in achieving a higher band score by fully developing your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Apart from that', and 'On the other hand' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'those point which I totally agree like'. The use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical rather than natural. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your sentences flow more smoothly into one another to create a more cohesive piece of writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'diversity', 'unique', and 'consideration'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'ground scenario' instead of 'actual situation' or 'ground information' instead of 'first-hand information'. Additionally, there is a spelling error ('o' instead of 'to'). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise and natural collocations and ensure your word choices are contextually appropriate for a formal letter to an editor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I writing this mail' (missing auxiliary verb), 'there are lots of diversity' (subject-verb agreement), and 'as compare to' (incorrect prepositional phrase). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are noticeable and occur regularly. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions. Proofreading your work for these common slips will significantly enhance your accuracy.
