Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear sir,
I am just normal citizen of our country who read your article about town centres resemblance. Perhaps, I do not support this notion.
There are so many factors which make village centre similar. Such as, almost every centre have same infrastructure, outer appearance. Moreover, they build parks in same style and with equipments as well.
On the other hand, my rural place is different from others, because this place is close to nature due to hills. Here you will attract by the ambience and the architectural skills. Besides this, in downtown Europe style buildings, Falls, and small beach as well.
I would like to invite you to visit my village. where I will show you most popular attraction and bring close to nature as well. By this you will have more detailed knowledge to write down in your upcoming article.
Thank you so much your time. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Max

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly state your disagreement with the article, describe the unique features of your town, and extend an invitation for a tour. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the description of your town mentions 'Europe style buildings' and 'small beach' without providing enough detail to fully illustrate why it differs from the 'similar' town centres mentioned in the article. To improve, try to expand on your points with more specific examples or descriptive language to fully satisfy the requirements of a Band 7 or higher.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each serving a clear purpose. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand', 'Moreover', and 'Besides this' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'I am just normal citizen' and 'By this you will have'. The transition between the general discussion of town centres and your specific town could be smoother. While the paragraphing is appropriate for a letter, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical rather than natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety needed for a higher band. You use basic terms like 'normal citizen', 'rural place', and 'popular attraction'. There are also some word choice errors, such as 'town centres resemblance' (should be 'resemblance of town centres') and 'Here you will attract by the ambience' (should be 'You will be attracted by the ambience'). To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'I am just normal citizen'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'every centre have same infrastructure'), and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'with equipments as well'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure often feels repetitive. To reach a higher band, you need to increase your control over basic grammar, particularly subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles.
