You have just read an article in a national newspaper which claims that town centres in your country all look very similar to each other. You don't fully agree with this opinion.

Write a letter to the editor of the newspaper. In your letter

• say which points in the article you agree with
• explain ways in which your town centre is different from most other town centres
• offer to give a guided tour of your town to the writer of the article

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

I am writing in response to the article recently published in your newspaper, which states that town centres in our country all look very similar. Although I agree with some points in the article, I do not completely share this view.

I agree that many town centres now have similar chain stores, supermarkets and fast-food restaurants. As a result, some areas have lost part of their original character and appearance.

However, my town centre is different in several ways. It has a beautiful historic area with traditional buildings and a local market where small businesses sell handmade products and fresh food. In addition, the town regularly organizes cultural events and festivals, which attract many local people and visitors. These features give my town centre a unique atmosphere that is not found in many other places.

I would be happy to give the writer a guided tour of my town. This would allow them to see these distinctive features personally and perhaps reconsider their opinion.
