Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to give me feedback about the article of my my town center Mansa that I read in your newspaper.
I am agree with some of your view points. First one is libraries are same as other towns as there are only paper books and newspapers to read. Secondly, the schools and colleges are quite similar with other cities in case of building structure.
However, there are some different facilities available for citizens than other town centers. In my town, parks are clean and filled with greenery. Therefore, all ages of individuals visit there in the morning and evening. Additionally, there are more sports ground available that encourage especially for youngsters to do physical activities and pursuing their games in which they interested. Consequently, We have many national and international players.
I would like to offer a guided tour of my town centers so that people can get an idea what amenities are available there and how to get there. I would be grateful if you could write this guided tour in your newspaper.
I look forward to your response.
Yours faithfully,
Manjinder Singh

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You clearly identified which aspects of the article you agree with, provided specific examples of how your town differs (parks and sports facilities), and extended a polite invitation for a guided tour. The tone is appropriate for a letter to an editor. To improve, ensure that your arguments are more fully developed; for instance, explaining why the sports facilities are unique to your town compared to others would strengthen the response. Overall, you have fulfilled the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First one', 'Secondly', 'However', and 'Consequently' to link your ideas. While the flow is generally clear, some transitions feel a bit mechanical. To reach a higher band, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the progression between sentences is smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall structure helps the reader follow your argument without difficulty.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'amenities', 'individuals', and 'pursuing'. However, there are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'give me feedback' (should be 'give my feedback' or 'provide feedback') and 'I am agree' (should be 'I agree'). The vocabulary is functional but lacks the precision or less common items that would characterize a higher band. Focusing on collocations and more sophisticated synonyms will help improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'I am agree' (subject-verb agreement), 'the schools and colleges are quite similar with' (preposition error: 'similar to'), and 'what amenities are available there and how to get there' (minor phrasing issues). There are also some punctuation and article errors (e.g., 'my my town center'). To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions, as these errors occur frequently enough to be noticeable.
