IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You have just read an article in a national newspaper which claims that town centres in your country all look very similar to each other. You don't fully agree with this opinion.

Write a letter to the editor of the newspaper. In your letter

• say which points in the article you agree with
• explain ways in which your town centre is different from most other town centres
• offer to give a guided tour of your town to the writer of the article

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to state my opinion regarding an article of yours which is read in The Tribune. I felt delighted after reading what you wrote about my town.

I love how you explained the beauty as well as the famous places situated at my towm. Not only my town has wonderful places to visit but also the religious centres are the heart of my village.

But there is one point where i disagree with your opinion is that only 30% of residents living in my village are well educated which is not true. Approximately, 85% of the population in my town is educated and 70% of them are working in their education related fields which is a proud thing. We have all the required amenities in the town such as banks, schools, service offices and many more where more than half of the workers are local residents.

I would like to invite you for a guided tour in my village which will include a walk around tour of my town as well as meeting with our local residents. Please write me back if you are interested.
