You have just read an article in a national newspaper which claims that town centres in your country all look very similar to each other. You don't fully agree with this opinion.

Write a letter to the editor of the newspaper. In your letter

• say which points in the article you agree with
• explain ways in which your town centre is different from most other town centres
• offer to give a guided tour of your town to the writer of the article

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my disagreement with the claim published in your newspaper that town centres in my country all look very similar.

I agree that there are some similarities between town centres. For example, many of them have similar building structures, exterior designs and facilities such as swimming pools. These common features are often used to make public spaces more convenient and accessible for residents.

However, I believe that town centres are considerably different when their interior designs, shops and overall layouts are examined more closely. Each centre is designed according to the needs and preferences of the local population. For instance, some town centres have larger entertainment areas, while others focus more on restaurants, clothing stores or family facilities. As a result, visitors can have quite different experiences depending on which town centre they visit.

As I am familiar with several town centres in my area, I would be happy to provide you with a guided tour. I could show you some of the most distinctive features of my town centre and explain how they differ from those mentioned in your article.
