Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, though some points are handled more fully than others. You successfully state which points you agree with, such as the mention of culture and tradition, and you provide examples of how towns differ based on geographic regions. You also include an offer to give a guided tour of your town. However, some ideas remain slightly under-developed or lack specific expansion, such as how the towns actually differ in structure beyond simply naming regions like Kathmandu and Pokhara. Overall, the communication of your message is clear and fulfils the general requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a logical flow from your disagreement with the article, to points of agreement, differences in your town, and finally the offer of a tour. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate each distinct point of the prompt. However, referencing and cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or a bit awkward, such as starting paragraphs with repetitive phrasing like 'I would like to say' and 'I would like to offer you', which affects the smooth progression of ideas. Improving the variety of transitions would make the structure feel more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
An adequate range of vocabulary is attempted for the task, with appropriate references to culture, tradition, and geography such as 'hilly region', 'terai region', and 'architecture'. However, there are noticeable limitations in word choice and word formation, such as writing 'claim that town of my country looks similar' instead of claiming that towns look similar, and phrasing like 'by saying truth about our history'. These minor inaccuracies and awkward collocations do not impede communication, but they reflect a basic lexical control that needs refinement with more precise phrasing and natural expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, with attempts at relative clauses and conditional structures. There are several errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text, including article omissions and misuse such as 'article that you have published... and claim' instead of claiming, 'our country have cities' instead of has, and 'respect to each other traditions' instead of each other's traditions. Prepositions inside grammatical patterns are occasionally incorrect. Nevertheless, these errors rarely impede communication, and the meaning of your sentences remains clear to the reader.
