dear sir or madam,
i am writing this letter regardng your recent article in new your times newspaper, i just read your article and i agree with you that alot of town centres in this country looks simlar but my town centre is different from others.
To begin with, i would like to share that our town has a vast diversificaton of residents living our town which makes it different from others. to elaborate, people living in my town are from different cultures and religions and they share different cultural values and makes this town very different and unique. for instance, recently our neighbour's father retired from the army service and all the people of the town gathered together and celebrated in a small party organized by the family. this demonstrates that the people of this town stay united which makes it dfferent from others.
In addition, another significant factor that makes my town diffrent from others is that our town is famous for its architechtural design. to explain, my town has very ancient buildings iin which people are still living and the architechtural design is very famous in the nearby town centres. if you want i can give you a tour of my town ii beleive you will enjoy it and it will change your thoughts toward my town centre.
i really appreciate your time and looking forward to hear back from you.
yours faithfully,
Jass

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the task requirements outlined in the prompt. You begin by stating which points in the article you agree with, noting that many town centres in the country look similar. You then explain how your town centre is different by highlighting community unity and ancient architectural designs. Finally, you offer to give a guided tour of the town to the writer. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For example, while the point about architectural design is introduced, the explanation tends to repeat the initial claim rather than fully extending the supporting details. Nevertheless, all bullet points are covered adequately, resulting in a relevant and appropriate response for a general letter task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing that separates the introduction, the body points regarding diversity and architecture, and the closing sign-off. Cohesive devices are used to guide the reader through the text, such as transitional phrases like 'To begin with', 'to elaborate', and 'In addition'. However, cohesion can sometimes feel a bit mechanical or repetitive in its linking patterns. Furthermore, referencing and punctuation at sentence boundaries occasionally lack smoothness, which prevents the response from achieving a higher level of fluid progression. Overall, the ideas are logically sequenced and easy to follow from start to finish.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'vast diversificaton', 'architechtural design', and 'ancient buildings'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'regardng', 'new your times', 'simlar', 'dfferent', 'iin', and 'beleive'. These errors do not seriously impede communication since the reader can still grasp your intended meaning, but they do restrict the lexical score because precision and control are lacking. To improve further, more attention should be paid to correct spelling conventions and choosing natural collocations for everyday formal and semi-formal correspondence.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response shows a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to use varied structures through clauses introduced by conjunctions and relative pronouns. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly involving comma splices, lowercase beginnings of sentences and proper nouns (e.g., starting sentences with 'i' instead of 'capital I'), and preposition usage. For example, expressions like 'living our town' lack the necessary preposition 'in'. Despite these errors, they rarely impede communication, and many sentences remain clear and comprehensible. Strengthening your control over sentence boundaries and article usage will help elevate your grammatical accuracy.
