You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I wish to bring to your attention an article that you published yesterday. I want to inform you that there are various attractions in my country's town center, unlike in other countries. As a result, I do not completely agree with your claim.

I agree with some of your points, which I mention below. First, all town centers have similar brand shops, cafes, and collections. However, my country's town center provides a children's play area; because of this, toddlers can enjoy themselves there, so parents can shop calmly. Moreover, individuals can relax in the garden and enjoy a beautiful sunset.

I would be grateful if you could explore our town center, and I will guide you through it so you can experience its unique culture, beautiful scenery, and traditional foods. I will ensure that you have a positive view from here.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter at your earliest convenience.

Yours faithfully,

Almas

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address the main requirements: you state that you do not fully agree, identify familiar shops and cafés as points of similarity, describe a children’s play area and garden, and offer to guide the writer around the town. This gives the letter a clear purpose and relevant content. However, the comparison is not fully precise: the opening refers to differences from “other countries,” while the task asks how your town differs from most town centres, and the examples are not clearly shown to be unusual compared with those centres. The offer is present, but the town’s distinctive features and the points from the article could be explained and supported more fully to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter follows a sensible sequence: you introduce your response to the article, discuss similarities and differences, then make the guided-tour offer and close politely. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and linking expressions such as “First,” “However,” and “Moreover” make the relationships between ideas clear. At times, though, the progression feels somewhat formulaic, and the reference in “I will ensure that you have a positive view from here” is unclear: it is not obvious whether “here” means the town or the article’s perspective. A more direct transition from the article’s claims to specific local examples, and clearer references, would make the cohesion more flexible and natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the letter and includes some useful descriptive language, such as “unique culture,” “beautiful scenery,” and “traditional foods.” You also use appropriate formal expressions, including “I would be grateful” and “Thank you for your time and consideration.” However, several choices are imprecise or repetitive: “various attractions” is broad, “collections” is unclear in the context of town-centre shops, and “positive view from here” does not express your intended meaning naturally. “My country’s town center” is also repeated and does not identify the town clearly. Use more precise local terms and natural collocations—for example, name the garden or play area and describe what makes it distinctive—to show more control of word choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 7.0

You use a mix of simple and more complex structures, and many sentences are controlled, including “I would be grateful if you could explore our town center, and I will guide you through it.” The conditional “if you could” and the reason-and-result construction about parents shopping calmly show some range. Most meaning remains clear, and punctuation is generally effective. A few grammatical choices are less natural or precise, such as “unlike in other countries,” where the comparison is not clearly framed, and “I will ensure that you have a positive view from here,” whose structure leaves the intended reference unclear. Continue varying sentence patterns while checking that comparisons and pronoun references are grammatically complete and unambiguous.
