Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to inform about my town Preet Vihar, Indraprastha. I have read your article in The Times Of India regrading town centres similarities with each other. However, I am partially agree with that as my district look completely different as mentioned in your article.
I admit about the greenery and cleaning of the town. And, how the municipal authorities taking care of garbage and drainage system on regular basis. They are also spreading awareness about using 3 different type of cans for plastic, recycles and waste. Which is a beneficial initiative for the upliftment of the society.
Whereas, Your article states about the free Wifi hotspot services in the town and free Ipads for the youngsters. President of the town also mentions at the time of election. However, we are facing disappointment about our benefits. Further more, all the nearby towns have a good faculty but we are still having shortage of staff in our school and colleges.
We have a small town of 500 residents. which inclusive of a school, college and a hospital. This is one of the most popular tourist attraction, because of the captive beauty of the beaches located here. And that is our main source of income. Although, this town still needs some development.
Would you kindly write about the real picture of our town in our newspaper please.
Thank you for your consideration.
Yours Faithfully
Jay

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You make your disagreement clear with “I am partially agree,” and you identify some points you accept, including the town’s greenery, cleanliness and waste-management efforts. You also describe local features and mention the article’s claims about Wi-Fi and iPads. However, the response only minimally fulfils the letter’s purpose: the contrast between your town and other centres is difficult to establish, and details such as the beaches and 500 residents are not clearly connected to how the town differs. Most importantly, you do not offer the writer a guided tour; asking them to write about the town is a different request. Develop a clear comparison and explicitly invite the writer to visit, offering to show them around.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has recognisable paragraphs, and expressions such as “However,” “Whereas,” and “Further more” show an attempt to connect ideas. Nevertheless, the information is not arranged in a clear progression: the discussion moves from cleanliness to election promises, then school staffing and tourism, without consistently linking these points to your disagreement with the article. Some connections are also unclear, as in “Whereas, Your article states…” and “This is one of the most popular tourist attraction,” where the referent is uncertain. The opening note-like lines before the salutation further interrupt the letter’s flow. Organise the body around the article’s claims, your town’s contrasting features, and the proposed tour, using clear links between each paragraph.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “municipal authorities,” “drainage system,” “awareness,” and “source of income,” which helps convey ideas about local services and tourism. There are also attempts at more formal language, such as “beneficial initiative” and “consideration.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unclear: “captive beauty” does not express the intended scenic appeal, and “good faculty” is not a natural way to describe staffing in schools. “Recycles” and “free Ipads” also show imprecise word forms or spelling. Build a more reliable range of natural phrases for describing town features and public services, and check that each chosen word conveys your intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “because” and “Although,” and the reader can understand several main points. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in basic sentence structure, agreement and verb forms frequently make the message harder to follow. For example, “I am partially agree” needs a different verb construction, while “how the municipal authorities taking care” lacks an auxiliary verb. “Which is a beneficial initiative” is a sentence fragment, and “We have a small town of 500 residents. which inclusive…” contains a fragment and an unclear clause. Practise complete sentences, subject–verb agreement, and consistent verb forms before adding more complex clauses.
