Student answer (Band 5.5)
No doubt, some people love to try new things because it provides them new experience. While other people prefer to keep doing things they are doing on their daily basis. I will discuss both these views and my own opinion in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, first and foremost is that by exploring new things people would like to enhance their knowledge. For instance, when people going to a new histoical place they try to learn the history of that place and try to understand different cultures. Moreover, some people eat different types of food because they are foody person and also try new taste. It gives them happiness. They become more confident and open- minded as compared to others.
In addition to, some individuals like to keep doing things simple because they are familiar with. This gives them internal satisfaction. They are use to it. In this way, they can save money and time. It reduce stress and uncertainty.
For example, eating familiar food avoids dispointment or health concerns. They feel safe and comfortable with that.
In my own opinion, I beleieve trying new things is a best way to boost our confidence and knowledge. It leads to create new memories in their life. They can grow personally if they try new places and food.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both attitudes and give a clear preference for trying new things, with relevant points about learning, confidence, comfort, saving time and money, and avoiding food-related health concerns. The examples of visiting a historical place and choosing familiar food help illustrate the two sides. However, several points are asserted rather than explained: for instance, how trying new food builds confidence, or why familiar routines save money, could be developed with a specific example. The conclusion also introduces “making new friends” without explaining this idea earlier. The response is 241 words, so it is 9 words below the required minimum; this limits the opportunity to develop the discussion fully. Add a little more explanation and support for each main point.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate discussion of each attitude, your opinion, and a conclusion. Paragraphing generally helps the reader follow the shift from trying new things to familiar routines. You also use signposts such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “For example.” However, some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, including “In addition to” without an object, and the opening “No doubt” does not clearly connect to the contrast that follows. Ideas within paragraphs sometimes feel like a list, and the conclusion repeats earlier claims rather than drawing them together. Improve progression by linking each reason to its explanation or example, and use referencing such as “this approach” to make connections clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “exploring,” “different cultures,” “internal satisfaction,” “stress,” and “uncertainty.” These choices show some willingness to go beyond very basic wording. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the expression less natural: “foody person,” “new taste,” “dispointment,” and “boost our confidence” in this context. “Keep doing things simple” is also an awkward phrase for describing familiar routines. Repetition of “new things,” “people,” and “confidence” further restricts variety. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “try unfamiliar dishes,” “avoid disappointment,” and “feel secure,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “although.” The main message is usually understandable, but control is inconsistent, and errors occur often enough to affect fluency. Examples include “when people going to a new historical place,” where the verb form is incomplete, “They are use to it,” and “It reduce stress,” which has an agreement error. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in “a best way” and “It leads to create new memories.” Some sentence boundaries and spacing around punctuation are missing. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms after “when” and “lead,” and article use, then proofread each sentence for a complete grammatical structure.
