Student answer (Band 6.5)
People have varied thought about experiencing new things, such as travelling and trying new foods, in life. While some people prefer to try different cusines and places to visit, others still consider it is better to do things they are familiar with. However, I believe visiting new places and trying different foods, giving us a new experience and exposure.
Those who believe trying new foods and visiting new places is the best way to know the cultural diversity worldwide. When people visit other places, it not only gives them a chance to learn about other cultures, but also gives them a chance to gain hands on experience by tasting local food. Helping them to enhance their knowledge about specific culture.
On the other hand, others think that doing familiar things, give them sense of comfort and relax because they know, there are less chances of dissatisfaction. For instance, if people go for dinner out side, and they order same food as they ordered last time with same restaurent, it gives them a confidence of no wastage of money because they already familiar with taste and quality of the food. Using same practice gives them self- confidence.
In my opinion, tasting different food and visiting new places is the best practice to live life in freedom. It facilitates with expouser and confidence.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of development. The ideas, such as the benefits of cultural exposure versus the comfort of familiarity, are relevant but remain somewhat superficial due to the lack of word count. To improve, you should expand on your examples and provide more detailed explanations for your arguments. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the points discussed. Meeting the length requirement is essential for a higher score in this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the other hand' and 'For instance' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between ideas could be smoother. For example, the second paragraph ends with a sentence fragment ('Helping them to enhance their knowledge...'). Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that every sentence is complete will help the text flow more naturally and improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'cultural diversity', 'dissatisfaction', and 'facilitates'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'varied thought' instead of 'varied thoughts' or 'different cusines' (spelling error). You also rely on some repetitive phrasing. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct spelling. For instance, instead of 'do things they are familiar with', you could use 'adhere to established routines' or 'prefer the comfort of the familiar'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('others think that doing familiar things, give them sense of comfort') and punctuation errors. Some sentences are also grammatically incomplete, such as the final sentence of the second paragraph. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic errors like articles, pluralization, and sentence fragments. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will significantly boost your score in this area.
