Student answer (Band 6.5)

People have varied thought about experiencing new things, such as travelling and trying new foods, in life. While some people prefer to try different cusines and places to visit, others still consider it is better to do things they are familiar with. However, I believe visiting new places and trying different foods giving us a new experience and exposure.

Those who believe trying new foods and visiting new places is the best way to know the cultural diversity worldwide. When people visit other places, it not only gives them a chance to learn about other cultures, but also gives them a chance to gain hands on experience by tasting local food. Helping them to enhance their knowledge about specific culture.

On the other hand, others think that doing familiar things gives them a sense of comfort and relaxsation because they know there are fewer chances of dissatisfaction. For instance, if people go for dinner outside, and they are order same food as they ordered last time ate the same restaurent, it gives them a confidence of no wastage of money because they already familiar with taste and quality of the food. Using same practice gives them self-confidence.

In my opinion, tasting different food and visiting new places is the best practice to live life in freedom. It facilitates with exposure and confidence.

In coclusion, everyone has a different choice to live life. either they can explore new things or keep stay with same routine. I believe exploring new things is giving people more exposure in different aspects of life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both attitudes and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument for familiar routines is supported by a relevant example, but the explanation of why new experiences are beneficial remains a bit superficial. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning or specific examples. The conclusion is present but brief. Overall, the response is relevant and maintains a consistent position throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of linking words could be more varied. Some sentences, such as 'Helping them to enhance their knowledge about specific culture,' are fragments and disrupt the flow. Improving the use of referencing and ensuring that each sentence is a complete, well-connected thought will enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'cultural diversity' and 'dissatisfaction.' However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'facilitates with exposure' and 'keep stay with same routine.' There are also minor spelling errors like 'cusines' and 'coclusion.' To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your vocabulary is used in the correct grammatical context to demonstrate a wider, more flexible range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and sentence construction. For example, 'others still consider it is better' (missing 'that'), 'they are order same food' (incorrect verb tense), and 'it gives them a confidence' (article usage). Some sentences are incomplete, such as the fragment starting with 'Helping them...'. To achieve a higher score, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that all sentences are grammatically complete.
