Student answer (Band 7.0)

People have different opinion wather they should try new experience,, or they should stick to their normal activities. Some people enjoy visiting new place and eating different food while, others prefer to follow their regular routine. This essay will discuss both views and I believe that exploring new place and trying new dishes is more binefical.

On the one hand, many people prefer familair activities because they feel comfortable and safe. They know what they expert from the place they travel of food they eat. For example, many people prefer to travel to same places in holidays, because they are already familier about the place that saves travel time. Similarly, some individuals never experience new cuisine, to avoid health problems. Therefore, foollowing a same routine can make their life easier and stress free

One the other hand, trying new things helps people to gain new experience and davelope new knowledge. Some people are always keen about trying new experience because it helps them to expleor more about new places and devalope important skills. Many people travel to diffrent countries allows them to learn about different culture, tradisions and languages. For instance, young people prefer to travel Japan, to experience their food culture, because the food culture of Japan is very famous for their special kind of noodles. Therefore, individuals force themsalves to explore new places and food.

In conclusion, although doing familer activites are comfortable and safe, I believe that experiencing new things such as visiting new place has more advantages. It helps to experience new place and gain knowledge, also trying new foods help to explore new culture and tradision.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The essay addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both attitudes and providing a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The ideas are relevant, though the development is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument for trying new things focuses heavily on 'gaining knowledge' and 'learning cultures' in both the body paragraph and the conclusion. To reach a higher band, you should aim to extend your ideas with more varied supporting points or deeper analysis rather than restating the same benefits. The position is consistent throughout, and the response is well-structured for the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into four paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', 'For instance', and 'Therefore' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing (e.g., 'the same routine' vs 'a same routine'). Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two opposing viewpoints. The progression of ideas is generally clear, though the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect sentences more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. However, there are frequent spelling errors such as 'wather' (whether), 'binefical' (beneficial), 'familair' (familiar), 'davelope' (develop), 'expleor' (explore), and 'tradisions' (traditions). These errors are noticeable but do not impede communication. To improve, you should focus on using more precise vocabulary and ensuring correct spelling. While you attempt some topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'cuisine' and 'routine', the range is somewhat limited, and some word choices are repetitive throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the same places in holidays'), prepositions ('travel to same places'), and subject-verb agreement ('doing familer activites are'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas appearing in the first paragraph. While you demonstrate an attempt at complex sentences, the frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
