Student answer (Band 6.0)

I am writing to express the both attitudes that some people like to try new things, visit new places. while, other preffer to keep doing things they are familiar.

In first situation, when someone try new thing they gain extra knowledge.when they try to spend on new food i.e. new restaurant's food they feel more pleasure. They enjoyed by exploring the new things. Thye amazed with the new one. In addition , They tried the new fragrance because they will be fad up from previous one. They enjoyed to meet the new friends, enjoyed their companies.

While on other hand some people dont rely on the thing they never tried first. They always give preferences to whom they familiar. May be their experience has not been going good when they tried to check the new one, either they are afraid of their spending that it can be waste.

In my opinion i also preffer to keep the things to whom i familiar. I also want to put an example of my personal experience that i loved fast food from the crust pizaa.

But a new bakery opened in my area name delicia, i asked my husband to try its fast food just like pizza.when i tried i really feel disappointed about the tast.i thought i have waste my money on it and I shouldn't rely in it. One more example i want to add about clothing brand, i always purchase my dress from nishat but one time i thought i should try some other brands. But when i purchased i was shocked about their stuff that was totally useless not worth the cost.so according to my view always trust on the things you already bought or tasted. Shouldn't waste your time and spending you are not familiar.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While you provide personal examples, the explanation of why people prefer familiarity versus novelty remains superficial. To improve, ensure that each paragraph explores the underlying reasons for these attitudes more deeply rather than just listing examples. The introduction is also quite weak and does not clearly paraphrase the prompt, which makes the initial position slightly unclear. Expanding on the 'why' behind these human behaviors would help you reach a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'In first situation' or the repetitive use of 'In addition' and 'While on other hand'. Some sentences are disjointed, and the logical flow between ideas is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'conversely') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'fad up' instead of 'fed up', 'crust pizaa', and 'stuff that was totally useless'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'novelty', 'routine', 'adventurous', or 'reliability', and pay closer attention to spelling and standard word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'someone try', 'people dont rely'), incorrect tense usage, and missing articles. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'I also want to put an example of my personal experience that i loved fast food from the crust pizaa.' Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your clarity.
