Student answer (Band 6.0)

There are few individuals who like to explore new things like going to places and various food while other category of people prefer to do known things.

Although it is considered to do such things which are aware which helps to master the skills in particular area, I believe learning things which give new knowledge will benefit in different ways.

People who dwell into learning same thing can help master the skills in one specific area. It is because the more people are investing time in that particular topic will learn numerous things and becomes easy for them. As a result they don't have to struggle when it is time to apply those skills in real time. I believe it is important to learn new things as well.

In my opinion, Getting knowledge and skills about new things is important and helpful for Long term.

It is because the world is so big and we never know what challenge comes up at any time. It helps to find any solution and face it at anytime. For Example, My friends mother is a home maker and father is businessman. Mother being in small circle and consistent work at home finds it harder to face the world while father is so smart to handle things well.

In Conclusion, Even though it is acceptable to focus on one closer skills which helps in advancement in skills but it is prominent for any people to learn new things in the huge world to be ready to face any situation with smartness.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why people prefer familiar things is repetitive, focusing mainly on 'mastering skills' without exploring other psychological or practical reasons. The example provided regarding the friend's parents is relevant but lacks sufficient detail to fully support the argument about adaptability. To improve, you should expand on your points with more specific reasoning or illustrative examples, ensuring that the connection between your arguments and your overall position is more robust and clearly articulated throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices, such as 'Although', 'As a result', and 'In Conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. For example, the second paragraph starts with 'People who dwell into learning same thing', which lacks a smooth connection to the previous paragraph. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as 'do such things which are aware'. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the ideas progress more naturally and improve the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'dwell into learning same thing' (should be 'delve into') and 'closer skills' (likely meant 'specialized skills'). The repetition of basic words like 'things' and 'learn' limits the sophistication of the response. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary and collocations, such as 'specialized expertise' instead of 'master the skills in one specific area' or 'adaptability' instead of 'face the world'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('there are few individuals who like... while other category of people'), missing articles ('is considered to do such things'), and awkward sentence construction ('It is because the more people are investing time... will learn numerous things'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence structure accuracy and proofreading for small errors would be highly beneficial.
