Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays people are more curious to explore new places for visit and try for new food items. Like many other fields food industry have been changed a lot. People want to open new food chains because of the interest of people. People always try to ho new places and explore them. Because curiosity is the part of human nature so that's why they want to explore beautiful places such as some people want to explore their own country while some people want to go for other countries. Some people visit due to their excitement and to get experience new place and food as well.

Firstly we talk about the places where people want to visit. So according to my opinion people want to get knowledge and want to know more about the place they visit their. Maybe they attract because of the beauty of the place or how quiet and peaceful place is.

Sometimes people want to visit secure place, like abbotabad and mansahra and some areas of kashmir also. In recent years there are many issues related with the flood situation in Pakistan. So people don't want to go the affected areas.

Many place are famous for its delicious food or their traditional dishes, so people like to go their for visit.

Many places are recognise of its crockery and beautiful dresses. It's depends upon the choice and preferences of the people.

So now i am talking about the food people always go to explore new food items and dishes. Some people like desi food, some likes Chinese so again people have their own choice what they want to eat from where.

Some people cannot change their taste and they always prefer to go to that places where they always went. The reason is the trust level have been built between the customers and the restaurant products.

So i think its depends on the choices, economical status, time management and the priorities of the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both attitudes—trying new things versus sticking to the familiar—and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention reasons like curiosity and trust, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The essay tends to list points rather than exploring the implications of these attitudes. To improve, you should expand on why people choose one over the other, perhaps discussing the psychological benefits of novelty versus the comfort of routine. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is often disjointed. Transitions are frequently missing or used incorrectly, such as starting sentences with 'So' or 'And'. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical, which makes the flow feel repetitive. For instance, the transition between discussing travel and food is abrupt. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'conversely', 'consequently') to connect sentences and paragraphs more smoothly, ensuring that the relationship between ideas is clear to the reader.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple words like 'people', 'places', and 'want to'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'ho new places' (likely a typo for 'go to') and 'recognise of its crockery'. The range of vocabulary is not sufficient to demonstrate flexibility or precision. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to travel, gastronomy, and human behavior, and pay closer attention to correct word forms and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentences, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'food industry have been changed'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'people visit their'), and missing articles or prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and sentence boundaries. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. Focusing on basic sentence structure and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
