Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 89 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the ideas are severely underdeveloped. The introduction is present but lacks a clear, well-defined position, and the body paragraph is cut off before it can provide a balanced discussion of both attitudes. Because the response is incomplete, it fails to meet the basic requirements of the task, resulting in a low score for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text lacks a logical structure due to its incomplete nature. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'on the one hand' and 'for instance', the overall progression is interrupted by the abrupt ending. Paragraphing is not effectively utilized, and the lack of a conclusion or a fully developed argument makes the text difficult to follow. The connection between ideas is weak, and the flow is hindered by the fragmented presentation of the content.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors that impede clarity. For example, 'concurrent world' is an incorrect collocation for 'contemporary world', and 'insets of' is a misspelling of 'instead of'. Additionally, 'deferent cushions' is a misuse of 'different cuisines'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the frequent errors in word choice and spelling demonstrate a lack of control over the language required for this level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are issues with sentence structure, such as 'lots of people are like to try', which should be 'lots of people like to try'. The use of 'this easy will further elaborate' is a misuse of 'essay'. Punctuation is also problematic, with run-on sentences and missing full stops. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences, which prevents the demonstration of complex grammatical control.
