Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both attitudes and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, though some points, such as the link between routine and 'maintaining a balance', are slightly under-developed. The position is consistent throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more specific, concrete examples rather than general statements. For instance, instead of just mentioning 'new places', you could describe how a specific travel experience broadens one's perspective. Overall, the task is fulfilled adequately.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Additionally', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'by which they can store numerous memories'. The referencing is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the two viewpoints.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'adventurous', 'diverse cultures', and 'perspective'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'doing same activity' (missing article), 'different cosines' (spelling error for 'cuisines'), and 'increase the confident' (incorrect word form). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on using collocations more accurately and expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary to avoid repetition of basic words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the comfort zone'), subject-verb agreement ('these gives them'), and word forms ('increase the confident'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are slightly clunky due to these grammatical slips. To achieve a higher score, you need to demonstrate more consistent control over complex structures and reduce the frequency of basic errors. Proofreading for small grammatical slips like missing articles or incorrect verb endings would be highly beneficial.
