Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many people would prefer to experience latest things for instance places to explore and different kinds of food. Some other choose to do the things they usually know.I believe that trying recent latest things would be amazing.

Proponents of preferring things that taste similar to my tongue

one of the main reason is dissatisfaction, individuals who does not like to destroy their day due to their food that they choose to try.for example, one of my peer who tried to try a new item on her born day she have ordered a dish called pasta which she spit right after she took a bite so for her that became as a detrimental memory. In addition, her colleague got sick due to spicy level that added in pasta.

Conversely, those who wish to go for fresh style food instead of known food.Based on the experiences that i faced are fascinating, new experience. The city i had visited when i was in my bachelors i went to trip with my mates to crate great memories that includes food.I still remember that location i had the best dessert i could never forget such day it became

unforgettable situation to me personally and also to all of my friends as well. Moreover we brought to our hotel to enjoy the day with delicious cake.

From my Perspective, both have their reasons but it depends on individuals to take decision on the meals that they want to go with.

Therefore, having ideas about making a day better by picking tasty cake rather than going for the meal that does disappointed the special day.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding why people prefer familiar things are somewhat repetitive and rely on a single, anecdotal example of a bad pasta dish. The section on trying new things is also anecdotal and lacks a broader perspective on the benefits of exploration. To reach a higher band, you need to extend your ideas with more general reasoning rather than relying solely on personal stories. The conclusion is also quite weak and does not effectively summarise the main points of the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often disrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of clear cohesive devices. While some transitions like 'In addition' and 'Conversely' are used, they are often followed by sentences that do not connect smoothly to the previous thought. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the subject shifts abruptly between 'individuals', 'one of my peer', and 'her colleague'. The overall progression of ideas is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument's development throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and often imprecise. There are several instances of awkward word choices and non-standard collocations, such as 'latest things' instead of 'novel experiences', 'destroy their day', and 'born day' instead of 'birthday'. Some phrases are repetitive, and the range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in word choice prevent the essay from achieving a higher score. You should focus on learning common collocations and more precise academic vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('individuals who does not like', 'she have ordered'), tense consistency, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'The city i had visited when i was in my bachelors i went to trip with my mates to crate great memories that includes food.' Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and incorrect comma usage. The range of structures is limited, and the errors are frequent enough to cause difficulty for the reader.
