Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 168 words. Consequently, the task is incomplete, and the development of ideas is severely restricted. While you attempt to discuss both attitudes, the arguments are underdeveloped, and the essay ends abruptly mid-sentence. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full, balanced discussion for both perspectives and clearly state your own opinion, ensuring each point is supported by relevant examples or explanations. The current lack of length prevents a full exploration of the topic, which significantly impacts your score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay uses basic paragraphing, but the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. You use some cohesive devices like 'However' and 'Furthermore', but the flow is often mechanical. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'the another group of attitude', which is grammatically awkward and confusing. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the next. The abrupt ending also disrupts the overall coherence of the piece.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic phrases like 'new things' and 'different types of food'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the another group' and 'get more experience than the another group of attitude'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary and avoid repeating the same words. Try to incorporate synonyms and more sophisticated collocations to express your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammar contains frequent errors that sometimes cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include 'it can be say' (should be 'it can be said'), 'would not like to experimenting' (should be 'would not like to experiment'), and 'they are acknowledge as' (should be 'they are acknowledged as'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and the attempt at complex structures is often faulty. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb forms after prepositions, and consistent use of articles. Proofreading for basic grammatical slips will also help improve your accuracy.
