Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. For instance, the argument that repeating activities leads to a lack of personal growth is a good point, but it is not fully explored or supported with sophisticated reasoning. The essay tends to over-generalize, such as the claim that eating the same food all week leads to health problems. While the task is addressed, the lack of depth and the somewhat simplistic nature of the arguments keep this in the lower band range.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently disrupted by unclear referencing and awkward transitions. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often inaccurate or mechanical, such as 'And the second hand' or 'Same like the food all so'. The flow between sentences is often disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument smoothly. Paragraphing is present but does not always effectively group related ideas, and the concluding summary is somewhat redundant rather than synthesizing the main points effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, often relying on basic words like 'thing', 'people', and 'life'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'loot of verity items' (lots of variety) and 'esfic food' (specific). Spelling errors are also prevalent throughout the text, which occasionally impedes the reader's understanding. The student struggles to use a range of vocabulary appropriate for an academic or formal discussion, relying instead on informal, conversational phrasing that lacks precision and variety.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammar is characterized by frequent errors in sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and article usage. For example, 'most of the people are like to visit' and 'they all stack in one place' demonstrate a lack of control over basic grammatical rules. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, these are often faulty and contain significant errors that can cause difficulty for the reader. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with misplaced commas and periods. The range of structures is limited, and the high frequency of errors is a major concern.
