Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this new era, most of the pupils wish to make some changes in their food and travelling. whereas, others believe that doing the same as before is a good choice.
Today's generation is more familiar with internet as compared to older generation, as they want to experience more places among the world, and would like to try different cusines. for instance, last year one of my friend visit banff with his girlfriend to see the nature because he gets bore from the lakes and food from India, andhe wanted to try some Canadian food, by this he explore one new country and get chance to meet other people of different community. By doing this you get more confident than others, which may help you in future.
On the other hand, some people think that going for the same things again and again is more valueable choice, as we already know the pros and cons and the get comfortable with the place or taste . For example, my parents have always visited the same restaurant for the last 10 years, as they like the taste of that place. They never wanted to try any other food to waste their hard-earned money. I know lots of people like this who went to same place for thier vacations.
In my opnion, sometimes it's good to try something different in life, if we having the same thing every time we get bored easily. but, if you do not have enough money to try new things then go with the familier one to save some extra bucks for emergency.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The example regarding the friend visiting Banff is relevant but lacks depth in explaining how this experience specifically fosters confidence. The discussion on the opposing view is also quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' behind these attitudes, perhaps by discussing the psychological benefits of routine versus the intellectual growth gained from novelty. The conclusion is present but could be more robust in summarising the main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the other hand' and 'For instance' to transition between ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some awkward sentence connections, such as 'by this he explore one new country'. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence builds logically upon the previous one would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on fairly basic terms like 'good choice', 'new things', and 'same things'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'cusines' (spelling), 'more valueable choice', and 'get bore'. To improve, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'novelty', 'familiarity', 'comfort zone', or 'cultural enrichment', and ensure that you use these terms accurately in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('one of my friend visit'), tense inconsistencies ('he gets bore'), and missing articles or incorrect prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences starting with lowercase letters after a period. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tenses would be a significant improvement.
