Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some people like to explore new places and try their food, clothing, culture etc while some other people enjoy their daily routine work, habits and environment.

While sticking to routine experience of daily comfort is far more better than exploring new places, culture, cuisines etc. I believe embracing new experiences is ultimately more benefical for personal development and emotional growth. On the other hand, there are compelling reasons why some people stick on their daily routines and minimizes their mental discomfort. Daily routine work especially, which they do it out of passion gives more satisfaction and mental peace. When individuals know precisely what food to order or what routes to take, saves time and avoid unnecessary anxiety.

On the other hand, actively pursuing new places offers profound intellectual and personal benefits. It develop and strengthen the art of social networking. Engaging with unfamiliar culture, food, broadens one's perspective and breaks down cultural stereotypes. Navigating with unfamiliar city or dealing with an unexpected situation builds self-confidence and resilience-qualities that are essential in an ever-changing world

For example, my father-in-law is the ideal model for the other kind of people who like stick on their daily routine work rather enjoying and exploring to new places But my father is the exact opposite he likes to travel and explore new destinations and get their vibe and live in their own manner.

In conclusion, I think travelling is always the best teacher where it teaches cultural value, human-relationship and essential life skills that routine cannot provide.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all parts of the prompt by discussing both attitudes and providing a clear personal opinion. Your position is consistent throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide some reasoning for why people prefer routines, such as saving time and reducing anxiety, the explanation could be more deeply explored. Similarly, the benefits of trying new things are mentioned, but the examples provided in the fourth paragraph are quite brief and lack the depth required for a higher band. To improve, ensure that each supporting point is fully explained with specific, illustrative examples rather than just listing benefits.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'On the other hand' and 'For example', to link your thoughts. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or abrupt, particularly between the second and third paragraphs. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for instance, in the fourth paragraph, the phrase 'the other kind of people' is slightly vague. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall flow and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'compelling', 'resilience', and 'stereotypes' appropriately. However, there are some issues with word choice and collocation that limit your score. For example, you write 'far more better', which is grammatically incorrect and lexically redundant. You also use 'stick on' instead of the more natural 'stick to'. While your meaning is always clear, the vocabulary lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing will help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. For instance, 'minimizes their mental discomfort' should be 'minimize' to agree with the plural subject. You also have issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'Navigating with unfamiliar city' instead of 'Navigating an unfamiliar city'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to keep the score in the 6.0 range. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and preposition usage will be very beneficial.
