Student answer (Band 6.5)
It has been noticed that some people like to experience different things in their life such as different cuisines and landscapes. While another group of individuals prefers to stick with the things they are familiar and comfortable with. From my perspective, it is always better to try something new because it helps us to gain unique experiences and broaden our horizons.
To commence with, experiencing similar things repeatedly may not only lead to boredom but also to limited knowledge. Visiting the same place every year for vacation and trying the same type of food can limit an individual's adaptability and sense of appreciation towards other cultures and their people. This Means that, such people may develop a prejudice against other communities, because they never get a chance to know about their culture and values. For instance, many individuals who migrate to diverse countries from isolated areas, may find it significantly difficult to adjust, in terms of food, language and values. This is because, they had never traveled and experienced such environment before in their lives.
On the other hand, individuals who are always open to trying out new experiences and cuisines may have broader perspective along with better understanding of others' culture, weather and moral values. Such individuals may have higher chances of success in both personal and professional aspects of life. They can stand out more in the crowd because of their knowledge, experiences and behavior. Likewise, traveling to different locations can help individuals to develop multiple life skills such as problem-solving, critical-thinking and harmony.
To sum up, being rigid and avoiding new experiences can affect our behavior and limits our knowledge.I personally believe that we should develop an adaptable nature and this is only possible by trying and experiencing new activities. Doing so, individuals can enhance their knowledge and skills.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both attitudes and clearly stating a personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, such as the link between limited experiences and potential prejudice. However, some arguments could be more nuanced; for example, the claim that people who stay in their comfort zone may develop prejudice is a significant generalization that lacks a deeper explanation. The position is consistent throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, ensure that all claims are supported by more detailed reasoning rather than broad assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'On the other hand', and 'To sum up' are used effectively to guide the reader. However, there are minor issues with referencing and flow; for instance, the sentence 'This Means that, such people...' contains unnecessary capitalization and slightly awkward phrasing. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and the essay maintains a coherent structure throughout.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is sufficient to convey ideas with some precision. You use some good collocations like 'broaden our horizons', 'adaptable nature', and 'critical-thinking'. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, though some word choices are slightly imprecise, such as 'isolated areas' to describe where migrants come from, or 'harmony' as a life skill. There are no significant spelling errors that impede communication, but the range is somewhat limited to standard academic phrases. Expanding your repertoire of topic-specific synonyms would help elevate the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use complex sentences, there are persistent errors in punctuation and grammar. For example, 'While another group of individuals prefers...' is a sentence fragment when used as a standalone sentence. There are also issues with comma usage, such as 'adjust, in terms of' and 'isolated areas, may find'. Despite these errors, the meaning is always clear, and the mistakes do not impede communication. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will improve this score.
