Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is an ongoing argument that few individuals value trying recent practices such as visiting museum and testing new meals because they are want to explore while other people prefer to carryout activities they understand well because they believes that new information does not matter. I believe that gaining new experience matters a lot rather than familiar activities. This essay will examine the both view points with my opinion.

one of the reason with humans trying new things is because they want to increase their experience and explore the site. visitation of new places helps to improve one travel instinct which will encourage them to travel more. For instance, people who travel more knowledge about roads and locations than less travelers.

On the other hand, individuals who values familiarization believes that it is the best approach of learning. They do not fancy or believe in recent knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 147 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the prompt asks to discuss both attitudes and provide an opinion, the discussion is extremely brief and lacks the necessary depth and supporting examples required for a higher band. The arguments are presented in a very superficial manner, and the conclusion is entirely missing. Because the response is severely under-length and lacks the required development of ideas, it does not address the task fully.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is limited due to the brevity of the text. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other hand' and 'For instance', but they are somewhat mechanical. The lack of a concluding paragraph and the underdeveloped nature of the body paragraphs make the overall structure feel incomplete. The logical flow is hindered by the lack of sufficient explanation for the points raised.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'testing new meals' instead of 'trying new cuisines' and 'visitation of new places' instead of 'visiting new places'. The range of vocabulary is limited, and the student struggles to express more complex ideas due to a lack of precise terminology. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of collocation errors prevent a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('they believes', 'individuals who values'), incorrect word forms ('less travelers' instead of 'fewer travelers'), and awkward phrasing ('they are want to explore'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the frequency of grammatical errors is high enough to cause some difficulty for the reader and indicates a lack of control over basic structures.
