Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some people believe that, trying new place to visit or trying out new food is an adventure, while other people believe that doing things that they are more familiar with are more comfortable. As well as it also helps to make new memories while going out to explore new things.

Undoubtedly, many people prefer to go out to explore new things in their life. This way it make people more different things to explore and try out. Many people are explorer who want to find out new place and explore that place custom and beautiful scenery that surround that area. For example, many people go for world tour or go out to explore new area, there they try out the local food, their tradition and customs and exchange a whole lot of knowledge from each other.

While on the other side many people prefer to go to same familiar place and keep trying out safe kind of food and place. This also help them to save some money as trying out different places cost a lot of money. It also hinders them from making new memories and exploring that new area in which they are not aware of. Many corporate people now a days refuse to go to new place to explore new place because they do not have time to go. As they are always busy in their own work.

In my opinion people should prefer to go out to explore new things as this gives them an opportunity to make new friends as well as make new memories with their friends and family.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of why people prefer familiar routines is a bit repetitive, focusing heavily on cost and time without exploring deeper psychological or cultural reasons. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the points made in the body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more detailed examples and ensure that your arguments are fully extended rather than just stated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'Many people' and 'For example' are used frequently, and some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. For instance, the transition between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother to better highlight the contrast between the two viewpoints. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the flow of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. There is a reliance on basic terms like 'new things', 'go out', and 'different places'. While the meaning is clear, the range is limited, and there are some awkward collocations, such as 'corporate people' and 'safe kind of food'. To improve, you should incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'novel experiences', 'comfort zone', or 'financial constraints', and work on using words in more natural, idiomatic combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('it make people', 'this also help them') and awkward phrasing ('in which they are not aware of'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some errors in sentence construction. To achieve a higher score, you need to demonstrate more consistent control over complex structures and ensure that basic grammatical rules, such as pluralization and verb tense consistency, are applied correctly throughout the essay.
