Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some individuals prefer to follow same routine that they are familiar whether be it trying new food or planning to visit a new place while others like to expose themselves to new events and experiences. In this essay, I will discuss both points of view and share my own opinion with solid reasons and relevant examples in support of my opinion.
Individuals who enjoys a familiar routine usually fear the unseen. They are afraid of things that can go wrong if they try something new. Such an approach makes it really difficult for them to draw pleasure out of new experiences. They find themselves in a much comfortable state when they are aware of the outcomes of activities they perform. For instance, my mother use to order the same food every time she visits her favourite restaurant. Meanwhile some individuals find amusement when they experience new things in life. For them experience matters more than the outcome. As a result, they prefer to visit new countries, experience new cultures and cuisines.
Everyone has a right to choose what he wants. However, I believe trying out new things and indulging yourself into new experiences are far beneficial for personal growth and mental development than sticking with the same routine. Activities like travelling to different countries and meeting different people from different cultures really broadens your vision. When you have a first hand experience of such things you perspective regarding different aspects of life changes. You start to acknowledge the differences in opinion, culture and race as an opportunity to learn. For example, I used to believe that Indian cuisine would be the worst out of all the cuisines but when I finally visited an Indian restaurant in Dubai, I have realised it was actually delicious.
In conclusion, prioritising comfort zone and continuing having safer options in life can be a good way of living but those individuals who keep themselves open to new experiences grow more in life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both attitudes and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the fear of the unknown for those who prefer routine and the benefits of personal growth for those who seek new experiences. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The discussion of the 'routine' group is brief, and the personal example regarding Indian cuisine is a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to extend your arguments with more depth and nuance, perhaps by exploring the psychological or social implications of these attitudes in greater detail.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Meanwhile', 'However', and 'For instance', to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel a bit abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the progression of ideas within paragraphs is smoother. Referencing could also be more precise to avoid minor ambiguities in your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'expose themselves', 'indulging', and 'broadens your vision'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'much comfortable state' instead of 'much more comfortable state' and 'far beneficial' instead of 'far more beneficial'. While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the control is not always consistent. To improve, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and ensure you are using adjectives and adverbs in their correct comparative forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. For example, 'Individuals who enjoys' (subject-verb agreement error), 'my mother use to order' (should be 'used to'), and 'you perspective' (should be 'your perspective'). These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, verb tense consistency, and possessive pronouns during your proofreading process.
