Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding why people prefer familiar things is linked to 'scams' and 'hacking', which feels tangential to the prompt's focus on personal preference and lifestyle. The ideas are relevant but lack depth, often relying on repetitive phrasing rather than detailed explanation. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments could be more logically connected to the core topic of human behavior and comfort zones to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'Tuning towards the other side of this trend' and 'In nutshell' are slightly unnatural. There are also issues with referencing; the connection between sentences is sometimes weak, making the flow feel disjointed. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs more variety and precision to improve the logical progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'uprising the human skill' and 'in order to prevent from scam'. The student relies on a limited range of vocabulary, often repeating words like 'new', 'things', and 'people'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated collocations and the presence of errors in word formation prevent a higher score. Expanding the range of synonyms and learning correct word partnerships would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people mindset is'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'instead of try new food'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, the student should focus on basic sentence construction, verb tense consistency, and ensuring that complex structures are used accurately rather than just attempted.
