Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this modern era, a large portion of society is shifting their preference by opting for new things and giving it a try whether it is about tourist spots or restaurants, however, there are still a few people who want to stick to their old choices. Although keeping the same lifestyle brings in the sense of stability among humans, from my standpoint, bringing some alterations can be beneficial to overcome boredom and be more productive.
To commence, one of the major reasons why people prefer transformations in their routines is to avoid boredom. Repeating the same activities every time makes people get habitual of those which initiates tiredness and laziness among humans . As a result, the overall productivity of the person diminishes over time. To cite an example, an office employee who works 9-5 shift everyday gets bore very easily of same activities he performs daily. This impacts his performance as his lost enthusiasm reduce his overall productivity. To avoid the same circumstances, an increasing number of people opt for changes to kill the boredom and replenishing their energy.
On the contrary, keep following old patterns is chosen by those who want to have stability in their lives. To cite an example, international students in any foreign nation always stick to the job they do because making frequent changes in their career not only reduces their opportunities owing to the gaps in their resumes but also effect their financial stability. Therefore, people choose to stick to their current situations to avoid any uncertainties in their lives.
Taking everything into account, I ultimately, arrive at the conclusion that despite the steadiness in holding the old habits, changes should be adopted by everyone to get some excitement in their lives and to be more productive.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both attitudes and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the link between routine and productivity, and the stability provided by familiar habits. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example of the office worker is a bit generic, and the argument regarding international students could be more deeply explored to fully support the point about financial stability. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully elaborated with more specific detail or logical extension.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence', 'On the contrary', and 'Taking everything into account', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is generally clear throughout the text. To improve, try to vary the cohesive devices and ensure that the links between sentences are more fluid rather than relying on standard signposting phrases.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'transformations', 'replenishing', and 'uncertainties'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'gets bore' (should be 'gets bored') and 'effect their financial stability' (should be 'affect'). The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but more precise and sophisticated vocabulary would be needed to reach a higher band level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include 'making the person get habitual of those' (awkward phrasing), 'his lost enthusiasm reduce' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'keep following old patterns is chosen' (should be 'keeping'). Punctuation is generally fine, but these recurring grammatical slips prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent verb forms will significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
