Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is no doubt that many of individuals like to explore new things such as going to new places and try different kinds of cousins. Moreover, other Masses just give preferences to those things which they already tried before. I will discuss my opinion in my upcoming paragraphs including with examples.

On the first hand, there are many reasons why people love to visit to new destination. first and foremost, people can explore new-new places and get a enough knowledge about different tradition and culture. At the same time, they can learn about many kind of languages. For instance, if they visit to another country like Canada, america and so many they can learn English, French. Apart from this, they can try different foods such as, Canadian, Chinese food and many more. Moreover, if people visit to another place they become more extrovert which may enhance their confidence. In this way, they can do their work anywhere in the world.

On the other hand, many of the individuals don not like to explore the world and they always prefer to do things which they already knows like visiting same place and eating same food. They do not like to waste their money they always think if they visit to new place and there is nothing to do they can waste their hard earned money. However, some people have not enough knowledge and they feel shy why they tried different food. Sometimes, they do not know how to order the food and which ingredient are they going to use. So that they are afraid to try new cousins.

In conclusion, trying to explore new things boost our confidence and knowledge instead of going same place and trying same food.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of why people prefer familiarity focuses heavily on financial concerns and shyness, which is a bit narrow. The points regarding the benefits of trying new things are relevant but could be more deeply explored to reach a higher band. The response covers all parts of the prompt, but the supporting arguments lack the depth and sophistication required for a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'For instance' are used to link sentences. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'On the first hand' (which should be 'On the one hand'). Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'cousins' instead of 'cuisines', 'masses' used inappropriately, and 'new-new places'. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on basic terms like 'good', 'many', and 'things'. To improve, you should focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. The errors in word choice do not completely impede communication, but they are noticeable throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the writing. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many of individuals like'), incorrect preposition usage (e.g., 'visit to new destination'), and article errors. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization and verb forms.
