Student answer (Band 6.0)

People have different views regarding experiencing new items in their life. While some believe that trying ongoing things in market is a good thing, others argue that an individual will do that thing in which they are well-known about. This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my opinion.

On the one hand, those who like to explore various places and numerous types of food are very cool personality because they believe that experiencing new trends can teach them what is on going thing in a market. Furthermore, they can experience a new type of food and they like that taste but if you don't try something new old things become bored to you.

On the other hand, some individuals support that doing things they are familiar with makes them more happy and they get master in it. They also believe that doing new things every time sometimes make a person confused and an individual start comparing two things or situation in their life. For example; our grandparents generation does not like to explore new things but they feel happy in going at familiar places because they don't want to create different memories and they are adjusted to that place.

After examining both sides of the view, I believe that exploring new things in you life is a good sign. This is because you can come to know about your interest and likings but if you are busy in going at similar places you feel bored at some point.

In conclusion, although both viewpoints have valid arguments, I personally believe that experiencing new places and food in your life give you more knowledge and taste so that you can able to compared things in a right way.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why people prefer familiar things is a bit repetitive, focusing mainly on 'boredom' versus 'happiness' without exploring deeper psychological or social reasons. The arguments are relevant but lack depth and specific, well-developed examples. The conclusion is a bit weak, as it repeats the prompt's themes rather than synthesizing the arguments effectively. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand your points with more detailed reasoning and clearer real-world examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear. For example, the transition between the idea of 'new trends' and 'old things become bored' is abrupt and lacks a smooth logical connection. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. You rely on simple phrasing, such as 'good thing,' 'cool personality,' and 'doing things.' There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'ongoing things in market' and 'get master in it.' To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and idiomatic expressions. For example, instead of saying 'doing things they are familiar with,' you could use 'adhering to established routines' or 'maintaining a comfort zone.' Expanding your range of synonyms will help you express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'new things every time sometimes make a person'), incorrect preposition usage (e.g., 'going at familiar places'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'you can able to compared things'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors prevent the text from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors, particularly with verb forms and prepositions, and practice constructing more complex sentences with greater accuracy.
