Student answer (Band 6.5)
Indubitably, a section of society have curosity to explore new things, however other people like to be in their comfort zones while following the same routine. Both the views along with my viewpoint will be discussed in upcoming paragraphs.
The primary reason for people who like to explore is to relieve their stress and relax. To elaborate, many people have workload and stressful lives nowadays and to break that monotonous routine they visit different places and experience new things, food which make them happy, hence relaxing and calming themselves physically and mentally. Another striking reason is some people enjoys traveling wants to make memories. To explain, people capture memories to relive the moment and to post it on social media. Not only they post it on social media for likes and views, but also they present different cultures and food to people who watch them while making money from social media. Therefore, people travel achieve their passion and to get relaxed vacations.
On the other hand, people who keep doing similar things is because some are introvert and happy in what they do in routine. To explain, people become habitual to their daily lives and they find their happiness in doing same things rather than going out or trying new food. For example, older people usually follows same pattern as they seek happiness in doing small things repeatedly still being delighted with what they do. Also, some people have their own tastes and preferences, different viewpoints and do not feel confident to try something new. Consequently, they avoid doing new things and follow certain patterns they like.
To conclude, no doubt both types of people have their own preferences however, I strongly believe that exploring new things not only alleviates stress, but also it excites to experience and praise a different culture and food, while promoting knowledge about various places.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt: it discusses both attitudes toward trying new things versus maintaining a routine and provides a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, particularly the discussion on the benefits of travel for stress relief and social media engagement. However, the development of the opposing view regarding introversion and routine is slightly less nuanced. While the position is clear throughout, the essay would benefit from more specific examples to support the claims, as some points remain somewhat generalized. Overall, the response fulfills the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme, and the progression of ideas is generally smooth. Cohesive devices such as 'To elaborate,' 'On the other hand,' and 'Consequently' are used to link ideas, although some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints. While the flow is generally good, there are minor instances where the connection between sentences could be more sophisticated to improve the overall cohesion of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning with some flexibility. There are attempts to use less common items, such as 'indubitably,' 'monotonous,' and 'alleviates.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'a section of society have curosity' (should be 'has curiosity') and 'people travel achieve their passion' (missing a preposition or verb). Spelling errors like 'curosity' also occur. While the range is adequate for the task, more precise and natural collocations would elevate the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some people enjoys traveling,' 'older people usually follows') and missing articles or prepositions. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some run-on sentences and missing commas that affect the flow. The errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher band score. Increasing the accuracy of basic grammatical rules would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
