Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, some individuals are interested to try out new things such as going to new places and experience different type of foods, while other people prefer to do the usual hobbies they are knowledgeable with. This essay will explain both behaviors with some personal experiences as support.
First, it is now common in our current generation where people especially teenagers and young adults are eager to visit new areas to experience different cultures and to try local foods. One of the reasons is the impact of social media platforms where every individual has the visibility now to see what other places can offer that is significantly different from their own country of origin or town, and these youths are in their phase of development through exploration.
On the other hand, other people prefer to do
the normal activities they are familiar with, as this offers convenient to their time and money. This mostly seen in elder people, where they do not appreciate wasting energy trying new things. It is driven by their lack of resources, traditional methods and beliefs.
In my experience, as part of the younger group, I am inspired of the pictures and videos I usually see in the social media such as Facebook and Instragram, where people are enjoying tourist attractions, local foods, and meeting local communities where my parents do not usually understand the purpose of my travel. According to them, it may be harmful and not safety going to places where you do not have idea of how they do their life on a daily basis and not safe to try foods you do not know how it was cooked.
In conclusion, age play a big role in this kind of behavior and it impact how people thinks.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social media as a driver for the younger generation, the explanation for the older generation is quite brief and relies on generalizations about 'lack of resources' and 'traditional beliefs' without sufficient elaboration. To reach a higher band, ensure that each viewpoint is supported by more detailed reasoning or specific examples. The conclusion is also quite abrupt and does not fully summarize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In conclusion' to signal the progression of your argument. However, the flow between sentences within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition between the discussion of social media and the personal experience in the fourth paragraph could be smoother. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the use of 'this' in the third paragraph, which could be more explicitly linked to the preceding idea.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'visibility,' 'tourist attractions,' and 'exploration.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'knowledgeable with' instead of 'familiar with,' 'offers convenient' instead of 'offers convenience,' and 'not safety' instead of 'not safe.' These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your expression. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that the word forms you use (nouns vs. adjectives) are grammatically correct.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('age play a big role,' 'it impact how people thinks') and prepositional usage ('inspired of' instead of 'inspired by'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with sentence boundaries and clarity. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your accuracy.
