Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people like to explore different places and food, while some prefer to stay in their confort zone to avoid the risks of unfamiliar situations. In my opinion, getting out of a familiar zone is important but within a certain limit.
First of all, mostly younger people are attracted to experiencing unusual food items because they want to do something in their life and it is the most crucial life stage where they experiment with multiple things. For instance, teenagers when they are growing into adults, they want to explore different cuisines and experience how different parts of world have varieties of culture and tradition. Another reason is the mindset to explore destinations around the world, some people have much curiosity to visit popular destinations around the world mostly due to social media influence.
However, there are many people who do not prefer experimenting variety instead they choose simple and known things. For instance, the older people like to stay in a quite countryside rather than chaotic city life. It is due to a normal routine lifestyle where they know a lot of people around and it is easier for them to live a retired life. Those who think of this familiar ideas are the ones who do not wish to take risks in their normal living, as many times they might have faced serious issue while doing any such experiments. For example, going into unknown neighbourhood where their life was as risk with the people in their surroundings.
In conclusion, we must have a limit of our curiocity to explore and choose to do such things only after getting a clear picture of how the situation would turn out.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both attitudes and providing a personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of social media on younger generations and the desire for stability among older people. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The explanation of why people prefer familiar things is slightly repetitive, and the personal opinion in the conclusion is a bit vague, lacking a strong justification for the 'limit' mentioned. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more specific, nuanced reasoning rather than general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'However', and 'In conclusion', which help the reader follow the argument. However, there is some mechanical use of these devices, and the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. For example, the shift from discussing food to social media in the second paragraph feels slightly abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences occasionally feels a bit stilted due to repetitive sentence structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'chaotic city life' and 'unfamiliar situations'. However, there are several spelling errors ('confort', 'curiocity') and minor collocation issues, such as 'familiar ideas' instead of 'familiar routines' or 'faced serious issue' instead of 'faced serious issues'. The range is sufficient for the task, but more precise and varied word choices would be needed to move into the higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' before 'younger people', 'the' before 'world'), subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. For instance, the sentence 'teenagers when they are growing into adults, they want to...' is grammatically clunky. There are also errors in preposition use and pluralization. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score in this criterion.
