Student answer (Band 6.0)

Exploring various spots and cuisines are always exciting but some people believe that it is better to stick with the known places and dishes. Both the prespectives shall be discussed in the forthcoming paragraphs before reaching a logical conclusion.

On one hand, one group of society prefers to go at familar places rather than exploring new things. There might be ample of reasons behind that like, the safety of an individual at known locations is more rather than a strange place. Also, when its comes to quality of food most of the population would always like to have food at the same place because they have been eating there since long time and the owner of the hotel is trustworthy. To quote an example, a research studies conducted by students of Northeastern University Psychology department that most of the people love to be at the same places so they may experience nostalgia.

On the other hand, folks who loves to explore new locations and dishes tends to promote there overall development. Additionally, they can learn about the culture of that specific place which broadens their horizons. By trying muliple cusines they can cherish their taste buds. One can also become multi-lingual because they can meet individuals around the world. For instances, there was one article printed in news-paper in 2024 which state that people become extrovert and devlop their communication skills in comparison to the peole who always loves to stay at same place.

In conclusion , my opinion is that individual should always experience unique either tourists spots or various cuisines. They not only learn new things but this will always enhance there communication skills which can be beneficial for them in various aspects of life

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both attitudes and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the safety and nostalgia associated with familiar places versus the personal development gained from exploring new things. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the mention of 'Northeastern University' and the '2024 newspaper article' lacks specific detail or depth, functioning more as placeholders than well-integrated evidence. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments rather than just listing them. The position is consistent, but the supporting points could be more thoroughly explored to demonstrate a deeper engagement with the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'There might be ample of reasons behind that like, the safety...'. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs more variety and precision to move beyond a standard, formulaic structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'nostalgia', 'multi-lingual', and 'extrovert'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'go at familar places' (should be 'go to familiar places'), 'since long time' (should be 'for a long time'), and 'cherish their taste buds' (which is slightly unnatural in this context). There is also a recurring issue with spelling and word forms, such as 'prespectives', 'cusines', and 'devlop'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and proofreading for basic spelling errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('folks who loves', 'people who always loves'), missing articles ('in news-paper'), and incorrect preposition usage ('go at familar places'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement before 'like' and after 'conclusion'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to limit your score. Increasing your control over basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your accuracy.
