Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent times, there are many types of individuals, who choose to travel around the world and explore new things. While other people would like to do known things. Both the statements will be discussed in further paragraphs, followed by my opinion.
To begin with, nowadays there are various places, where human can go and explore. Many people are choosing to explore different things, which has several benefits. There will be always something new to learn, such as history, different types of food, locality, and tradition of that particular place, which can give international or national exposure. Secondly, visitors can also make new memories and guide other people to visit there. For instance, there are many social media influencers out there on Instagram and Facebook, who try to show and give their suggestions on social platforms, in order to help other people.
However, there are certain kind of people, who do not like to try new things. There may be few reasons behind it. Sometimes in life not everyone feel comfortable while travelling new place or try totally different things beyond your limits. For example, there are many articles in the newspapers, which show that people are getting threats from local people, which can break your moral to visit new place. Furthermore, keeping things simple and known can also help you to survive and make your trip enjoyable.
In summary, both the views have their own pros and cons. As visiting a new place can give new exposure, while keeping things in limited areas can give assurance of safety and make it more joyful. In my opinion, I would say exploring is the best key to increase your knowledge and your boundaries to get experiences.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both attitudes and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of cultural exposure versus the comfort of familiarity. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the point about 'threats from local people' is a bit vague and could have been better supported with more nuanced reasoning. The position is consistent throughout, but the essay would benefit from more depth in the supporting arguments to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'However', and 'In summary', which help the flow of the text. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the referencing is slightly unclear, such as 'Both the statements will be discussed'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall cohesion of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'international exposure' and 'social media influencers'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'known things' instead of 'familiar routines' or 'break your moral' instead of 'discourage you'. To improve, the student should focus on more precise collocations and a wider variety of descriptive language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'human can go' (should be 'humans can go'), 'travelling new place' (should be 'travelling to a new place'), and 'not everyone feel' (should be 'not everyone feels'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the frequency of these minor errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and preposition usage would significantly improve the accuracy.
