Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the prompt and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention bungee jumping and visiting restaurants as examples of trying new things, and visiting familiar places for comfort as examples of the alternative, these points are not fully extended. The arguments rely on simple observations rather than deeper analysis. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a more robust explanation of why these attitudes exist, rather than just listing examples. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack the depth required for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'In the new era' and 'In the same era' are used as transitions, but they do not naturally connect the ideas. There are also issues with referencing and punctuation, such as the missing space after the period in the first paragraph and the awkward phrasing 'As a example'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the flow feel somewhat disjointed at times.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite repetitive and lacks precision. You frequently use basic words like 'things', 'new', and 'happy'. There are also several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'old skool life', 'visited by them', and 'he addicted to that things'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations, while ensuring that your spelling and word forms are accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('lot of people... has interest'), missing articles ('go for trip'), and incorrect verb forms ('all of them did not experienced'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after periods and commas. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of your writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
