Student answer (Band 6.0)
The importance of exploring new kinds of stuff, ranging from experiences of travelling to food that we consume, differs from person to person, which was always debatable, has now become more controversial, with many people claiming that it is beneficial while others reject this notion. The substantial influence of this trend has sparked controversy over its potential impact in recent years. However, we will discuss both views and reach a logical conclusion.
Analyzing the statement and explaining it further, the first and foremost reason behind it is that in today's 21st century, people like to try new experiences and love to travel around the world while trying new cuisines. The main reason behind it is that Gen Z people, at a young age, travel while working as influencers who make videos and post about themselves. So due to it many people watch it and would like to do the same thing, while some do it to prove thier showoffness while others genuinely love it. For example, there's a show named "Travel with me" which depicts many videos about exploring the world and how they feel and what consequences they face.
Probing ahead, on the flip side, many individuals do not want to leave their comfort zone, so they just stick to their daily routine, which we can observe in many older people. It's common for them to follow their own daily chores, as they haven't been doing them since their young. Secondly, some people might have to look at their financial situation, as they need to take care of their family, and they might not be trying out new things.
To conclude, it depends on the kind of person and their interest in trying out new things while looking at all the things they need to manage and tackle in their daily life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the prompt and provides a personal opinion, though the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention why people enjoy new experiences (influencers, social trends) and why others prefer routine (comfort zones, financial constraints), the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The introduction is quite repetitive, using phrases like 'sparked controversy' and 'debatable' without clearly defining the core issue. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a clear, distinct argument supported by a concrete example rather than general statements. Your position is present but could be more explicitly stated throughout the body paragraphs to ensure a more cohesive argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. For instance, the transition 'Probing ahead' is an unusual choice for this context. Additionally, some sentences are loosely connected, such as the transition between the influence of Gen Z and the example of the TV show. While the paragraphing is sufficient, the internal flow within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence builds logically upon the previous one. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure feels a bit formulaic.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. You rely on informal or vague phrasing, such as 'new kinds of stuff' and 'showoffness'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'cuisines' and 'comfort zone', the range is limited. There are also some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'consequences they face' in the context of a travel show, which does not quite fit the intended meaning. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and avoiding colloquialisms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'which was always debatable, has now become more controversial' contains a faulty relative clause structure. There are also issues with tense consistency and preposition usage, such as 'haven't been doing them since their young'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of complex sentence structures, ensuring that your punctuation supports the clarity of your ideas.
