Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary society, some believe in exploring varieties in term of tastes and places , but others just want to stay in their comfort zone. In my opinion, trying new things give more adventure rather stay in limits. I will discuss both viewpoints and give my opinion in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, many folks are now want to explore and do not want to stick to the same genre. To be more specific, new generation like to go outside different areas, trying different food outlets. Moreover, it also helps to learn about different cultures and ethnicities. For instance, majority of college student know different spots of specific food items such as where they can find good Italian style pizza or how to enjoy hillside street food.
On the other hand, older generation like to do things according to them. They do not like to be in dilemma while choosing options.
To explain this, Parents do not want to wast their time while selecting varieties. Sometime, it is so overwhelming. Additionally, that feeling of warmth and memories of past make them to perform action in similar ways to reconnects to their roots. For example, when we visit to our hometown , we like to recreate all the past memories with our loved one. Such as eating same bread with butter everyday while sitting in the kitchen with your grandparents.
In conclusion, Although staying in old term, eating comfort food bring back to childhood but in my opinion exploring different cities and country will help to grow more personally and professionally as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both viewpoints and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that the new generation enjoys exploring, the explanation remains superficial, relying on general statements rather than deep analysis. The discussion on the older generation is better supported with the example of 'reconnecting to roots,' but the overall argument could be strengthened by providing more specific, nuanced examples of how these attitudes impact personal growth or social dynamics. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a clear, well-developed reason that directly supports your thesis statement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' and 'On the other hand,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'In conclusion, Although staying in old term.' Additionally, there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'perform action in similar ways.' Improving the variety and natural flow of linking words will help elevate your score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary society,' 'comfort zone,' and 'overwhelming.' However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'varieties in term of tastes,' 'wast their time,' and 'staying in old term.' These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('new generation like,' 'Parents do not want to wast'), article usage, and prepositional phrases ('visit to our hometown'). Some sentences are also missing necessary words or contain awkward phrasing, such as 'trying new things give more adventure rather stay in limits.' To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with correct verb forms and prepositions.
