Task-2

In today's era, majority of population like to explore new things, for example, different food items and different places to visit. On the other hand, some people just prefer to keep doing the things they are already familiar with. In this essay, both these situations will be discussed.

To begin with, I believe that the young generation like Gen-Z or Millennials are the kind of people who are eager to explore new things. They get bored of same things so easily. Therefore, it is evident that they like to try latest things. For example, today's generation has discovered large number of new recipes which were never found by previous generation people. These type of people are very anxious and they have unique thinking.

On the other hand, people who prefer to keep doing similar things are like old skool people. However, they have their comfort zone in eating same kind of food or visiting same places. I have seen my grandparents as an example for this as whenever any problem arrives

in their lives, They prefer to visit the same lake every time which is at the border of our village. They find peace and comfort which is connected with that place and they never get bored of it. They have been doing this for last thirty six years. I believe these kind of people are more patient and they are deeply connected with their roots.

To conclude, both types of people have their own reasons to choose different attitudes. In my opinion, I am a mixture of these attitudes as I also love to explore new things whereas, some places or food items are comfort zone in my life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the prompt and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the discussion on 'Gen-Z' and 'old skool' people relies on generalizations rather than well-supported arguments. The example of the grandparents is relevant but lacks depth in explaining why this preference for familiarity is a significant societal attitude. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the underlying reasons for these behaviors—such as the psychological need for security versus the desire for personal growth—rather than just describing the groups.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'On the other hand,' and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical. For example, the sentence 'I have seen my grandparents as an example for this as whenever any problem arrives in their lives, They prefer to visit the same lake...' is slightly disjointed due to the line break and punctuation. Improving the transition between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. You rely on simple phrases like 'keep doing things' and 'new things' repeatedly. There are also some informal or imprecise choices, such as 'old skool' and 'anxious' (which is used incorrectly here; you likely meant 'adventurous' or 'curious'). To improve, aim for more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary. For example, instead of 'large number of new recipes,' consider 'a diverse array of culinary innovations.'

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('majority of population' should be 'the majority of the population') and subject-verb agreement issues ('young generation like Gen-Z... are' should be 'is'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization after commas. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic articles and pluralization to improve accuracy.
