Student answer (Band 6.0)

Human being on our planet often have different personality. Some people enjoy doing things repeatedly while creative people often love to try new things. Although, both group of people enjoy doing it on their place. This essay will discuss this development and attitude.

To begin with, People who like to try new things are often creative. It has been seen that we have more options available than ever in the past. Everyday many new restaurant and parks are opening for people. Therefore, innovative group often go to the new place to have new experience. Furthermore, Some people feel bored to do similar activities everyday and they keep looking for the changes in life. Restaurants and new places helps them to meet their demands.. Due to economic developments, the government often asks their citizens to be creative on whatever they do and many people takes an inspiration from it. For example, people without fear often thrilled to do risky activities which release dopamine.

Conversely, people who often like to do same things everyday hold conservative personality. They may have fear to try new things. They do not want to spoil their mood and often ending up doing the same things. In my experience, I have seen that people with conservative personality afraid of results so they end up doing the things that they were doing it since long time.

To sum up, personality is different from person to person. Although, doing same things can be boring for some group but some people really enjoy doing it. I personally believe that there is nothing wrong in that and it should be considered as normal behaviour of human.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation of why people prefer familiar activities relies on generalizations about 'conservative personality' and 'fear' rather than exploring the psychological or practical benefits of routine. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the points discussed. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete, nuanced examples and ensure that your personal opinion is more clearly integrated throughout the essay rather than just appearing in the final paragraph.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'Conversely'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'Although, both group of people enjoy doing it on their place.' Additionally, some referencing is unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the connection between sentences. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words will help improve the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'new things', 'good', and 'bad' (implied). There are also some collocation errors, such as 'take an inspiration' instead of 'take inspiration' and 'doing the things that they were doing it since long time'. While your meaning is clear, the lack of more sophisticated or idiomatic vocabulary limits your score. Try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations and precise adjectives to describe personality traits and human behavior.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Human being... have', 'many people takes'), article misuse ('the new place'), and awkward sentence construction ('people without fear often thrilled to do'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, and try to vary your sentence structures with more accurate complex clauses.
