Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, most of the adults like to try new things, such as exploring new places and trying new dishes. However, a few of them do not want to try anything new. I will discuss both views along with my perspective in the subsequent paragraphs.
On the one hand, there are those who love to try new things. The predominant reason for this is that they believe that, by trying new things, they will gain more experience as well as if they visit any place, it will enhance their knowledge about a particular country and city. To explain it, if they go to any new place, they can learn about new cultures and traditions. Apart from this, it can also be considered that it will improve their communication skills, as in new places sometimes they have to speak in another language. As a result, people like to try new things.
On the other hand, some of the individuals do not want to try anything new for a number of reasons. The first and foremost is, they might feel risk to visit new places, as well as while trying new food they may not feel good about taste. Furthermore, they may feel that their communication skills are not good or at new places they may be unable to talk, so for those reasons they do not want to try anything new. For example, a headline in a famous newspaper, ' The Bluff ', revealed that almost 45% of individuals do not want to explore new places as they face a language barrier. Hence, it can be predicted that these types of people are totally satisfied with life, and do not want to explore something new.
In my opinion, going to new places, as well as trying new dishes, is more beneficial for people. I believe that in this way they feel fresh and they can live happily.
In conclusion, although both attitudes have their own preferences and reasons, according to my perception, in today's fast-paced era, going outside has more fruitful results.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both attitudes and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of cultural exposure versus the risks of the unknown. However, the development is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding communication skills is mentioned in both the first and second body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, you should aim to extend your ideas with more depth rather than repeating similar points. The position is consistent throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarises your stance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Apart from this', and 'Furthermore' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. For example, the phrase 'for those reasons' is a bit simplistic. Additionally, the referencing within sentences could be smoother; at times, the connection between the topic sentence and the supporting evidence is slightly abrupt. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the progression of ideas is easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'predominant', 'fast-paced era', and 'fruitful results'. However, the vocabulary is somewhat basic and occasionally imprecise, such as 'feel risk' instead of 'perceive a risk' or 'feel good about taste' instead of 'enjoy the flavour'. There is also some repetition of simple words like 'new' and 'things'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and a wider variety of synonyms to express your ideas with greater sophistication and nuance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'most of the adults like' (should be 'most adults like'), 'feel risk to visit' (should be 'feel that visiting... is risky'), and 'these types of people are totally satisfied' (which slightly misrepresents the intended meaning). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentence constructions are clunky. The errors do not impede communication, but they do prevent the essay from reaching a higher band score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and more natural phrasing.
