Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowaday , some people are adventurous to explore new things like different cuisines and new spots but a few people love to stick to their routine and not willing to try new things. In this essay we will discuss both behaviors but according to my opinion adventurous nature is more beneficial because you can explore new things.

First of all we talk about people who are more willing to take risk and explore new things such people are more realistic in their personal life. They take challenges as a part of life and face circumstances in both way because sometimes such people suffer from bad experiences during travel. They always fearless in their life and take such negativities to build their strength. Furthermore , they have a special bond with nature ,so they can adjust in every type of environment. Exploring new cuisine help them to understand different cultures and historical events related to them. A person who is always try new things gives him courage and strength. Such people are more informative as compare to others.

On the other perspective a person who is always do the same things may have different challenges like heath issues or some psychological problem due to which he is showing this pattern. In some cases age is also playing role because with a age you are not try new thing because such things gives you anxiety and depression for them new experiences may cause loss. Moreover, people with less exposure do not take risks. for example an old Pakistani can not enjoy chinese food due to a great difference in their spice level and ingredients.

In both cases , they are spending their life in a better way which is according to their habits and nature. I can not tag them but according to my point we have only one life so, enjoy it in exploring nature and try to meet people from different culture in such a way you come to know that how communities are inter connected in terms of food, social issues and history.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the benefits of being adventurous are discussed, the section on those who prefer routine is less analytical, focusing more on potential psychological issues or age-related limitations rather than the inherent comfort or stability that routine provides. The ideas are relevant, but some points, such as the link between routine and 'psychological problems,' are over-generalized and lack sufficient supporting evidence. To reach a higher band, ensure that both perspectives are explored with equal depth and balanced reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all,' 'Furthermore,' and 'On the other perspective,' which help guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'On the other perspective' (which should be 'On the other hand'). Additionally, some sentences lack smooth transitions, making the flow feel a bit disjointed at times. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and better referencing to connect ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'adventurous,' 'circumstances,' and 'inter-connected.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'always fearless in their life' (should be 'are always fearless') and 'a person who is always try new things' (should be 'always tries'). The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but the lack of precision and occasional errors in word formation prevent it from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('a person who is always do the same things') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, the writer should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring consistent subject-verb agreement, as well as refining the use of complex structures to ensure they are error-free.
