Some people like to try new things, for example, places to visit and types of food. Other people prefer to keep doing things they are familiar with.

Discuss both these attitudes and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Exploring and learning different things is the path of growth in life. Some individuals are fond of exploring new things, such as, visiting different places and trying different cuisines, whereas other people are focused on doing things they are familiar with. This essay will not only discuss both views but also my opinion inclining more towards trying new things with a logical conclusion.

To commence with, a person should try variety of new things. Firstly, visiting new places helps them to grow understanding of different traditions and cultures of different parts of world. They will learn how different people live and celebrate their happiness in different ways. For example, by going to different states in India, one can experience many new festivals which are celebrated as per their customs. Secondly, each place has its own different cuisines depending on the weather and avaliability of ingredients. An individual can savour different food dishes which is popluar of that place or from where it was originated. For instance, one can only experience authentic pizza making in france where it was originally made. Hence, going to new place gives an experience of customs and also different food to savour and learn about people over the world.

Nevertheless, many people prefer to keep performing tasks they are familiar with from long time. The reason behind this being that they do not want to leave their comfort place. To elaborate, they are into habit of performing same task over and over. They find it easy to do because they are experienced with it and for doing something new, they need to learn techniques which they find it difficult to learn. To illustrate, one can go to city festivals to interact with different people and however, they do not want to be part of it. Therefore, they keep constant routine and work methods.

To conclude, although some people prefer performing things in similar way they are familiar with yet in my prospective individuals should learn and explore new things as going to new places and trying different food places which will give them a chance to experience new things.

There are occasional spelling errors, such as 'avaliability' and 'popluar', as well as minor lexical inaccuracies like 'food places' instead of 'food dishes' in the conclusion.
